Vermicompost with biochar: understand the blend

Vermicompost and biochar are different materials brought together in Soily's blend. Understanding that combination helps you compare it with straight worm castings, regular compost and complete growing mixes.

Two ingredients, different roles

Vermicompost comes from the worm-composting process. Biochar is a carbon-rich material made through heating biomass with limited oxygen. The characteristics of biochar depend on its source and production. Its presence is an ingredient fact, not proof of a specific result in every soil.

What we can tell you about Soily

  • Our compost foundation is aged over multiple years before it is fed to the worms.
  • Biochar is included during the worm stage of the process.
  • The finished product is a vermicompost blend with worm castings and biochar.
  • The blend is bagged for each order and sold in 2.5, 5 and 10 lb sizes.

Compare the claims that can be checked

When evaluating any blend, look for ingredient transparency, intended use, application guidance and actual analysis for claims about nutrients, pH or performance. We do not attach an unverified nutrient analysis or guaranteed yield increase to Soily. Choose it for its disclosed process and fit with your project, and evaluate the results under your own growing conditions.
