Change one useful thing
Choose comparable plants and keep their containers, base mix, light and routine as similar as practical. Apply the amendment using its guidance to one group and keep a comparison group without that addition. If the plants or conditions differ substantially, record that before interpreting the result.

- Question: what do I want to learn from this trial?
- Setup: plant variety, planting date, container or bed size, and base growing medium.
- Treatment: product, amount, application date and the guidance used.
- Care log: watering, fertilizer, weather, location changes and any other intervention.
- Observations: dated photographs, growth notes and harvest measurements when relevant.
- Decision: what would I repeat, change or investigate next?
Keep the conclusion modest and useful
A home comparison cannot establish a universal yield claim or separate every environmental influence. It can still reveal whether the process is practical for you and whether it merits a larger trial. Let the written record guide the next purchase instead of relying on a single photograph or an unmeasured impression.
