FROM BAG TO YOUR SOIL
Add Soily as an amendment alongside a suitable growing medium. It is not a complete potting mix. Choose your application before choosing the amount.
2.5 lb is our smallest bag. Choose 5 lb for more material, or 10 lb when your project calls for it. Each contains the same blend, sold by net weight.
Tell us what you are growing and how you plan to use it. We will help you decide where Soily fits.
Ask about your projectCare starts long before the bag.
We start with manure, sawdust and aged wood chips. Turned and aged over multiple years, then worked by red wigglers with selected additions and biochar. We bag the finished blend for each order.
Inside Soily
From aged compost to vermicompost rich in worm-worked material, including worm castings and biochar. Bagged for each order.
Manure and carbon-rich materials are blended, turned and aged over multiple years. Only then does the finished compost reach our worms.
We blend in measured additions, including alfalfa meal and biochar, before feeding the compost to the worms. No yard waste or food scraps.
Red wigglers are natural composting specialists: they live near the surface and feed on decaying organic matter. That makes them well suited to our compost-fed beds, where they help turn aged material into vermicompost. Tens of thousands live in our wedge beds beneath a three-seed cover mix.
The finished vermicompost contains worm castings and other worm-worked organic matter, with biochar included. Use it as a soil amendment alongside your growing medium.
We fill each bag directly from our finished pile as we prepare your order for dispatch. This limits time in the shipping bag.

Gardeners often use both names for worm compost. More precisely, castings are what worms excrete; vermicompost includes castings and other decomposed organic matter from the worm system. Soily is a vermicompost blend with biochar.
Composting is the first stage of our process. We turn and age the manure and carbon-rich materials for multiple years, then feed the finished compost to worms. Those years refer to compost preparation, not time spent in the worm beds.
No. Our process starts with manure, sawdust and aged wood chips, followed by measured additions to the worm feed. We do not use yard waste or food scraps.
Living roots release carbon compounds that feed microbes around them. We plant a three-seed cover mix in our worm beds to bring living roots into the system. This describes our growing practice, rather than a measured nutrient claim for the finished bag.
Biochar is a porous, carbon-rich material used in soil. It is one part of our vermicompost blend.
Years of compost preparation, selected worm feed, planted red wiggler beds and biochar are part of our process. Each bag is filled per order from our finished pile. The value is in the ingredients, preparation and handling.
Worm compost is biologically active, and moisture and temperature affect its microorganisms. We bag per order to limit time in the shipping bag. After delivery, keep it cool and shaded, use it promptly and avoid complete drying. Bagging alone does not guarantee a particular microbial count.
