Make an inventory you can see at a glance
- Plants: what you are growing and how large each plant is expected to become.
- Containers: capacity, drainage and where each one will sit.
- Growing medium: what is already in the pot, including any fertilizer listed on the mix.
- Care: how you will water, inspect and reach the plants throughout the season.
- Storage: where any unused gardening material can be kept according to its instructions.
Keep the first trial manageable
Choose one specific project rather than changing every container at once. A limited trial makes it easier to observe the plant and to remember what you did. If you buy Soily, choose a bag size that fits the application guidance for that project, without assuming a particular number of pots per pound.
Spend on the missing part of the setup
If the problem is a container without drainage or a plant that needs a better location, address that first. A specialty amendment is most useful as a deliberate part of a functioning setup. This approach keeps the next purchase connected to the garden you actually have.
