- 2.5 lb: start small. Our smallest bag is an option for a limited trial or a project that calls for a smaller amount.
- 5 lb: the middle size. Twice the material in the 2.5 lb bag. Compare it with your planned amount before choosing one or several bags.
- 10 lb: more material. Twice the material in the 5 lb bag. Consider it when your documented needs justify the quantity, and include shipping in the comparison.
Choose the application before the quantity
Soily is a soil amendment to add to an existing soil or growing mix. Choose a suitable base potting mix when filling a container; a bag of Soily does not supply a complete container mix.
- Name the job: top-dressing an existing pot, blending an amendment into a container mix, or amending a garden bed.
- Check the directions: use guidance for this blend, your plant and that application. A rate for a different product is not automatically a rate for Soily.
- Check the units: keep weight and volume separate. A percentage by volume cannot be turned into pounds without a verified conversion for the material.
- Total the planned amount: once the rate and units are clear, add up your projects and compare bag quantities. If the guidance is unclear, ask before choosing an amount.
Ask us about your plant and project. Include the plant, pot or bed dimensions, existing soil or growing mix, and how you intend to apply the blend so we can understand the question.
Compare the delivered price
Check current bag prices and offers before ordering. For a like-for-like comparison, divide the price after any applicable discount by the bag weight to get the product cost per pound, then account for shipping and tax in the final total. Free Standard shipping applies to orders containing only 2.5 lb and 5 lb bags in the contiguous United States and Washington, D.C. Orders containing a 10 lb bag have shipping calculated at checkout. Taxes are additional where applicable. Review the final total before paying.
Weight is not coverage
The bag sizes describe net weight. We have not published a verified volume-to-weight conversion or universal number of pots treated per bag. Use the application guidance for your actual project rather than an invented coverage promise. All sizes dispatch in 3–5 business days. Carrier transit time is additional.
