Keep a separate record for each setup
Two pepper plants may have different varieties, planting dates or container sizes. Label the pots and note those differences. That simple step prevents you from attributing every difference in growth to the amendment, especially when trying a new material for the first time.
Check the mix and feeding overlap
- Read the container mix label for included fertilizer and intended use.
- Use a pot with suitable drainage, and observe moisture before watering.
- Choose an amendment rate from product guidance rather than combining several online recipes.
- Record every feeding and amendment application in the same log, so additions do not become invisible to one another.
Plan a small comparison
Choose two comparable plants if you have them. Keep their base mix, containers and routine as similar as possible, and photograph them on the same schedule. This is a practical home observation, not a controlled product study. It can still help you decide whether the blend and the care routine fit your garden before scaling up.
